dry lubercants for a small wooden race car 200mm powered by a co2 cartridge.?
i am using a wooden car 200mm long with metal axles and plastic wheels. i am able to use a dry lubercant. does anyone know any good ones? hopefully something common around house
At any auto parts store, in the section where they sell keys; there will be a small tube of Black Graphite dry power key lock lubricant. (cost $1)
The tube will be 1/2 inch around and 3 inches long with a application tip.....This stuff is super slick. (try some between your fingers you'll quickly see.)
If the metal axle is using wood as a bearing, heat that small metal rod with a match or cigarette lighter and place it on the wood where it turns...this will seal the wood then apply the graphite......and there should be no resistance to the movement of the car.....
(the resin in the wood and the grain will cause resistance)
Also the thinner the tire that touches the ground will offer the least resistance to the ground.
Those two things completed....you should have a lighting fast car.....you'll know the first time you "pop" your first Co2 cylinder.
