What were you thinking as you took off on your first solo flight?
I am so excited! Partly because today I soloed for the first time. I was surprised at the fact that I wasn't nervous about my piloting skills, just really excited to do it. My CFI has done ( and continues to do) a terrific job.
As i throttled up, I was thinking
a. wow what a beautiful sunset to fly in to
b. the plane flies like a beauty without all 160 pounds of my instructor in it
c. this is the coolest thing I have ever done!
I liked that I could put my charts and kneeboard on the empty seat. It also flew very well without the instructor. He was over 10% of the gross weight (we're talking Cessna 150 here).
I loved it. I was nervous as heck for the first touch and go, but the last two were great.
