What should I charge for a mural?
I'm painting a mural for my boyfriends mothers friend who owns a local yoga shop. The mural will be on a glass window, and will be of a woman's black silhouette in the tree pose coming out of a lotus flower with swirling green vines and flowers behind. The mural will be about 8 feet by 5 feet. I have no prior professional mural painting experience, I am a graphic designer, but I know how to paint fairly well, and have won 2 art contests for my paintings.
What would be a fair price to charge?

well lets see, you know what you are worth as an artist because you have experience and feedback from clients who follow your practise, you have a portfolio to show your skills and you seek to promote your career. So now you can gauge the amount of time you need to expend making this mural, you can estimate the volume of materials needed and you know your expenses, so charging out this commission is principally based around how much you feel you are worth paying yourself, taking all the criteria I mention into account as well.
